Phacops speculator is a classic Devonian Era trilobite from the Atlas formation. The prominent pustulose surface on the glabella and the wonderful compound eyes are features one can never tire of admiring.
This example features the finest preservation and detail. The carapace is split in two colors down the length - green and gray! Entire trilobite is well-preserved with very full inflation and no damage or distortion. Both eyes are complete with full lens detail. Excellent pustulose detail throughout. This specimen represents the pinnacle of this species in a display fossil.
With all our specimens, we include a written, non-expiring guarantee of authenticity. Similar to all trilobites found in the world, the only way these fossils are located is to break the trilobite-bearing rock therefore, repair and sometimes, restoration to the damage is unavoidable.
