INCREDIBLE BLACK TOOTH WITH BLUE CLOUDS - COMPLETE UNBROKEN AND WITH SHARP TIP - A FANG TOOTH
This is a supreme specimen of Leidyosuchus, the predominant crocodile found in the Late Cretaceous Period of North Central North America. Most fossils on the market are from the Hell Creek formation but this tooth came from an old estate by the original collector who found it in the Judith River Formation. It shows incredible blue cloud accents over a midnight black enamel. This is a primary fang tooth and shows a sharp tip with no breakage.
This fossil tooth came from a crocodile that lived alongside T. rex in the famous Hell Creek Formation of Northwestern U.S.A.. It is of typical size as these creatures only attained lengths of just over 3 feet. Based on the diminutive size of the species in the Hell Creek Formation, perhaps, the presence of massive meat-eating theropods kept their size down in order for them to survive amidst dangerous dinosaurs such as Nanotyrannus and Tyrannosaurus rex. It is INTACT WITH NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION. A great addition to a well-diversified collection or a perfect way to start a fossil tooth collection from one of the most desired sites in the fossil world.
