EDUCATIONAL FOSSIL SET OF BOTH TYPES OF TEETH PLUS A VERTEBRA FROM A CROCODILE THAT LIVED ALONGSIDE T. REX!
This is a fossil specimen set of three fossils of Leidyosuchus, the predominant crocodile found in the Hell Creek Formation in the United States. Included are fragmented but nearly complete examples of BOTH kinds of teeth found in the jaw as well as a vertebra. The piercing teeth found in the front as well as the crushing teeth found in the back of the jaw are very different and in this set, we include both. Also, a nice, well-preserved vertebra is included. While not perfect, these are affordable specimens assembled together to make a great GENUINE fossil reference set for teaching or educational collections. The diminutive size of these crocodiles was likely due to the presence of massive meat-eating theropods that kept their size down in order for them to survive amidst dangerous dinosaurs such as Nanotyrannus and Tyrannosaurus rex.
The famous Hell Creek deposit in the Northwestern United States has been immortalized again and again on numerous TV documentaries as the "Valley of the T. rex". For its astonishing array of dangerous and large prehistoric predator fossils, no place has captured more attention or has been featured more in the news than Hell Creek! Fine grade fossils from this formation are amongst the most sought after specimens for collectors around the world. Most of the dinosaurs we grew up learning about as kids, come from Hell Creek.
