REEDOPS
CEPHALOTES HAMLAGDADIANUS TRILOBITE LAB PREPPED
Hamar
Laghdad Formation - Erfoud, Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
This is
a TOP GRADE example of a Reedops cephalotes hamlagdadianus trilobite from the Devonian deposits in
the Atlas Range at the edge of the Northern Sahara. It is a
rare type in comparison to the larger and much more prevalent other
Reedops species, making this a must have specimen to round out a
collection. This example is with a NATURALLY dark olive colored
carapace. Its state of preservation and detail is superb. The entire
creature is present with slight erosion on one side and a tucked under
pygidium. Excellent multi-lens eye detail is present.
Unlike
typical trilobite fossils, this is a professionally
prepared example using high-tech
micro-abrasive equipment to fully expose every bit of tiny detail.
The end result
was worth the extra expense and labor and has produced this fascinating,
fine quality fossil. The
trilobite sits way up from the rest of the original brown limestone
matrix making for great display.
