TRIPLE DIACALYMENE TRILOBITE CONCRETION - Ktaoua Formation, Morocco

LOWER ORDOVICIAN PERIOD:  505-438 million years ago

Piled up like a car wreck, this natural triple Diacalymene trilobite concretion is a fantastic display specimen.  Each of the trilobites exhibits choice preservation and natural dark limonite stain.  This rare example is 100% natural and has no restoration, only repair from fractures that were necessary to break open the nodule.  Once in a while we come across a double but rarely a triple.  The trilobites are all top-shelf examples and for a stunning multiple mortality example, this is a bargain!

This choice example is from the Ktaoua Formation (a once prehistoric ocean floor) from Morocco.
