THYSANOPELTIS
TRILOBITE LAB
PREPPED
- Hamar
Laghdad Formation - Erfoud, Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
Uncommon
in the market compared to more prevalent species, this Thysanopeltis trilobite is a
fine display specimen. It is a very graceful and bizarre type of
scutellid with fragile and delicate pygidial spines as its
hallmark. Creature is in a partially enrolled 'death pose' so
appears as if it is crawling up its original limestone matrix. The trilobite and the surrounding rock surfaces have been carefully
lab-prepped with high-tech micro-abrasive equipment to fully expose every bit of tiny detail.
The end result was worth the extra expense and labor and has produced
this wonderful fine quality trilobite fossil.
An
excellent candidate with well-preserved tail spines for a well-varied
collection.
