THYSANOPELTIS TRILOBITE LAB PREPPED - Hamar Laghdad Formation - Erfoud, Morocco DEVONIAN PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago Uncommon in the market compared to more prevalent species, this Thysanopeltis trilobite is a fine display specimen. It is a very graceful and bizarre type of scutellid with fragile and delicate pygidial spines as its hallmark. Creature is in a partially enrolled 'death pose' so appears as if it is crawling up its original limestone matrix. The trilobite and the surrounding rock surfaces have been carefully lab-prepped with high-tech micro-abrasive equipment to fully expose every bit of tiny detail. The end result was worth the extra expense and labor and has produced this wonderful fine quality trilobite fossil.
