UNUSUAL FLOATING ZILCHOVASPIS TRILOBITE WITH FULLY EXPOSED SPINES
Hamar
Laghdad Formation - Erfoud, Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
Unquestionably, this is
THE Lamborghini of Zilchovaspis (aka Odontochile)
trilobites! The technique and pose is to an extreme
with ALL pleural and pygidial spines exposed along with its snout
process, genal spines and entire head fringe. Viewed from behind
(third photo from the top), one can admire the extensive and delicate
touch that was needed during countless hours to prepare this specimen in
this manner. This graceful,
backbreaking pose
makes this one bizarre example of trilobite
articulation. Extremely dramatic in aesthetics and most
definitely, one of the best of this species we will offer!
The ULTIMATE example to display -
even those disinterested in
fossils would be hard-pressed to not take notice of this showpiece!!!
This
Zilchovaspis
specimen has
been carefully
lab-prepped with high-tech micro-abrasive equipment to fully expose every bit of tiny detail.
Highly
recommended and a one-of-a-kind addition for any quality collection where
"something different" is the desired highlight of the
specimen.
