WRECK PARAHOMALONOTUS
TRILOBITE -
Hamar
Laghdad Formation - Erfoud, Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
The
Parahomalonotus is a beautifully simplistic and streamlined
trilobite. Its segments are so delicate and fine, it is more akin
to looking like a fat worm rather than a crustacean. Very few
genuine specimens can be found on the market, even less than the rare
spiny types. Any collection should not be lacking an example of these
odd species. This
is a fascinating example and is completely genuine with no
restoration of
any kind. It shows a molted carapace disarticulated three
segments like a train wreck! Each of the segments represent full
and intact sections of the three main segments of trilobites, a cephalon
(head), a thorax and a pygidium (tail). Each section is fully
inflated and BOTH eyes are intact with excellent relief. A superb
display fossil of a little encountered type. Very highly
recommended!
