ARISTOHARPES TRILOBITE
LAB PREPPED
- Atlas Mountain Range, Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
As a
great model for a futuristic spaceship design, the Aristoharpes is one
of the most artfully streamlined trilobites that ever existed in the
Devonian. Its graceful genal spines sweep back to seemingly
protect as they envelope its thorax and its cephalon (head) sits
way up above the wide flange of its free cheeks and surrounding
border. This is a very rare trilobite to find in a fine quality
with no restoration.
This
stunning example was prepared by us in our own lab and we removed the
rock around the creature to elevate the entire animal on a slight
pedestal for an killer display effect. (see the side angle photo
for this feature) It has wonderful inflation and shows a fully
outstretched body which is rather rare
as many of these are found partially or fully enrolled. The
surface of the specimen is naturally colored a
dark olive green. Typically the thorax of these trilobites is
restored and lack of segment detail is the sign of restoration.
This example has fine detail across the entire body. Very
highly recommended.
In this
day and age of unbelievable
quantities of fake and heavily
restored trilobites, this rare and seldom available specimen is backed by our
unconditional guarantee of authenticity and genuineness of the creature.
