FINEST PERFECT & RARE BUMASTUS MEGISTASPIS TRILOBITE Anti- Atlas Region, Morocco ORDOVICIAN PERIOD: 510 million years ago Amongst the largest trilobites, the Lannacus sp. asaphid trilobite is a large and rare trilobite from the Anti-Atlas Ordovician deposits in southern Morocco. Seldom seen anymore in the market, when they are offered, they are usually of poor quality, composites of multiple trilobites or heavily restored. If you asked us to find the finest example of a Lannacus then this specimen would be a dream come true. It truly could not get any better than this with this specimen. In every possible way, this is the most perfect and natural Lanncus trilobite we have ever seen or prepared. It would be a prize addition to the world's finest trilobite collection and never would you look at it and want another. For this species, this would be a specimen that the most seasoned trilobite aficionados would drool over. Quality examples of this trilobite have now become extremely scarce. This fine specimen is 100% GENUINE AND COMPLETE WITH NO RESTORATION. Realizing the quality and rarity, we fully prepared the specimen in our lab in Orlando, Florida and the result is spectacular! The entire creature is fully articulated and exhibits the fullest possible, lifelike inflation along with wonderful detail and preservation. The orange coloring is a result of the naturally-occurring limonite pigment and has been sealed for protection. The eyes are both genuine and intact and are the most pronounced we have ever seen in any of these specimens, VERY RARE! BOTH genal spine tips are GENUINE. Differing pigment in the pygidium is 100% natural and is 'as found', not the result from a repair or peeled (missing) carapace. The color variation is IN the carapace. The heavy limestone concretion matrix wonderfully preserved and complete with original pigment on the outer skin, seen in the back side photo above. Here's a SUPER RARE trilobite that makes a fantastic display fossil for it's rarity, 100% COMPLETE, natural condition and impressive size on its thick and original rock matrix.
