PHACOPS TRILOBITE LAB
PREPPED - Hamar
Laghdad Formation - Erfoud, Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
Phacops speculator is a classic Devonian Era trilobite from the
Atlas formation. The prominent pustulose surface on the glabella
and the wonderful compound eyes are features one can never tire of
admiring.
This
example features a beautiful natural color and fine preservation to the
creature's fossilized carapace. Fine pustulose detail throughout
with minor damage limited mainly to the left eye and left free
cheek. Other eye well displayed as shown above. Partially
enrolled "death pose" shows this animal was aware of its
impending doom. Super display pose with no deformity to this fully
inflated fine example.
