CAMBROPALLAS
( ANDALUSIANA )
TRILOBITE - Sahara
Desert, North Africa
LOWER
CAMBRIAN PERIOD: 543 - 510 million years ago
At nearly
the size of small Paradoxides trilobite, this is one massive Cambropallas telesto
trilobite,
and in very rare, natural preservation! Excavated
from Cambrian sedimentary rock beds, this is one of the finest and
largest you will find anywhere. Amazingly,
the original limestone slab that the fossil is on is complete albeit
with repair sustained during excavation. There is only
approximately 5% restoration limited to the pygidium and outermost tips
of the genal spines. Natural dark brown limonite staining has been
sealed with a clear preservant to protect the rare feature. This
is one super impressive specimen of a condition and size that is rarely
found anymore.
VERY
RARE IN SUCH A LARGE SIZE AND LESS THAN 5% RESTORATION!!!
