PARALEJURUS TRILOBITE
LAB PREPPED -
Atlas Mountain Range, South Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395-345 million years ago
This
is a specimen with a story. First, the fossilized creature has not
only been carefully prepped on the dorsal surface, but the underside of
the head and tail have been exposed, as well, an ultra-rare opportunity
to see what these creatures looked like on "the other
side". There's more, though. Notice the large circular
crushed area on the tail likely made from a giant conical tooth.
This poor guy was bitten by a large marine creature. Furthermore,
looking to the underside of the snout, you can see two cracks from some
type of possible crushing. No doubt, these apparent injuries were
the cause of the demise of this rare trilobite.
This
Paralejurus species trilobite specimen was professionally prepped with high-tech micro-blaster
equipment in our lab in Morocco. The work performed was the most
difficult and prized type of prep job, the "flying"
position. Dozens of hours went into the task of completely freeing
the areas shown. Unlike other similar specimens, this fascinating
evidence of an attack from a large predator makes this a real prize for
the discriminating collector. Phenomenal detail and articulation.
Surface area of animal is fully cleaned and is 100% NATURAL WITH NO
RESTORATION.
Highly
recommended and a great value for those collectors or curators that
demand the best. Animal
is 2.9" in length and 1.2" wide SOLD
