CROTALOCEPHALUS
TRILOBITE LAB PREPPED
Atlas
Mountain Range (Northern Sahara Desert), South Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
More and
more as time goes by, quality trilobites from the Devonian limestone
deposits of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco as getting harder to
locate. This breath-taking Crotalocephalus gibbus is a pure gem of
a fossil trilobite. With its natural gold hue and very full
inflation and pose, this would be a hard specimen to beat. This
example represents a unique occurrence in the formation of the limestone
fossil where the head of this trilobite has been preserved in a bright
yellow gold hue then softly transitioning to olive as you move back
toward the posterior of the creature. We highly recommend this
Crotalocephalus for the collector demanding quality AND
uniqueness. It has been micro-blasted and carefully hand-prepared for the best preparation of the creature. Genuine
limestone matrix is intact and of a warm light golden brown hue. The entire specimen
is with NO
RESTORATION! A
highly recommended genuine specimen. A bizarre
and fascinating species, the Crotalocephalus (Crotalocephalina) trilobite is an ugly yet, desirable addition to any collector's
cabinet. With it's fat, bulbous snout, tiny eyes and strange
raised surfaces down its lobes, the Crotalocephalus trilobite is one of our personal favorites. INCREDIBLE
NATURAL GOLD HUE AS IF KING MIDAS TOUCHED THIS ONE HIMSELF!
