CROTALOCEPHALUS
TRILOBITE LAB PREPPED
Atlas Mountain Range
(Northern Sahara Desert), South Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
More and
more as time goes by, quality trilobites from the Devonian limestone
deposits of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco as getting harder to
locate. This beautiful Crotalocephalus gibbus is an excellent
example and recommended for the discriminating collector. The
trilobite has a bright natural olive hue and very full
inflation. Its pose makes for an interesting display with a slight
bend at the pygidium imparting a sense of movement in the fossil. It has been micro-blasted and carefully hand-prepared for the best preparation of the creature. Genuine
limestone matrix is intact. The entire specimen
is with NO
RESTORATION! A
highly recommended genuine specimen. A bizarre
and fascinating species, the Crotalocephalus (Crotalocephalina) trilobite is an ugly yet, desirable addition to any collector's
cabinet. With it's fat, bulbous snout, tiny eyes and strange
raised surfaces down its lobes, the Crotalocephalus trilobite is one of our personal favorites. GORGEOUS
BLENDS OF BRIGHT AND DARK OLIVES ON THIS WELL-PRESERVED EXAMPLE
