CROTALOCEPHALUS
TRILOBITE LAB PREPPED
Atlas Mountain Range
(Northern Sahara Desert), South Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
This
specimen has a very seldom seen feature, a perfect display of its eye
lens details.
The right eye lens is untouched and both eyes are genuine. With no
restoration and intact eyes, this is one rare example of the
Crotalocephalus gibbus. It has been micro-blasted for the best
presentation of the creature. Genuine
limestone matrix is the highly prized yellow type. Its stunning olive color is completely natural and the entire specimen
is with NO
RESTORATION! A
highly recommended genuine specimen. A bizarre
and fascinating species, the Crotalocephalus (Crotalocephalina) trilobite is an ugly yet, desirable addition to any collector's
cabinet. With it's fat, bulbous snout, tiny eyes and strange
raised surfaces down its lobes, the Crotalocephalus trilobite is one of our personal favorites. RARE
COLOR AND DEGREE OF PRESERVATION! 4.65" and
3.5" wide with original matrix, trilobite 3.5' in length
