CROTALOCEPHALUS
TRILOBITE LAB PREPPED
Atlas Mountain Range
(Northern Sahara Desert), South Morocco
DEVONIAN
PERIOD: 395 - 345 million years ago
Fine
grade TRILOBITES
from the Devonian limestone
deposits of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco are getting harder to locate.
This large and well-preserved Cheirurus (Crotalocephalus) gibbus
species is quite a superb example and a must have for the
collector demanding quality. It has been micro-blasted and
carefully hand-prepared for the best preparation of the creature.
Aesthetic natural color limestone matrix hosts the dark olive green
creature. Positioning of the trilobite is perfectly outstretched
and well-centered on the large piece of matrix. Fine detail and excellent overall inflation for a very high relief display specimen. A bizarre
and fascinating species of the Cheiruridae order of trilobites, the Crotalocephalus (Crotalocephalina) trilobite is an ugly
duckling yet, desirable addition to any collector's
cabinet. With it's fat, bulbous snout, tiny eyes and strange
raised surfaces down its lobes, the Crotalocephalus trilobite is one of our personal favorites. SIMPLY
A GORGEOUS, QUALITY EXAMPLE AND LARGE!
