HUGE PARADOXIDES NATURAL DOUBLE TRILOBITE BED - Anti-Atlas Mountain Range, South Morocco CAMBRIAN PERIOD: 543 - 510 million years ago This MASSIVE and exceedingly rare natural double Paradoxides was excavated from the Cambrian beds at the northern fringe of the Sahara Desert. Not only is this specimen a rarity unto itself as a genuine double of the largest known trilobites, but the color on each is 100% natural and original and has only been stabilized to protect it from deterioration when this giant fossil slab is proudly displayed. Each of these trilobites would be the finest specimens you could acquire but to add to the rarity of this true investment-grade fossil, the two are together on their original single slab of limestone. Each Paradoxides boasts of only approximately 2% restoration! and key anatomy is intact and present such as the pygidium, pygidial spines, genal spines and cephalon with glabella. FOR PARADOXIDES FOSSILS, THIS IS PRACTICALLY UNHEARD OF! Both of these trilobites are near perfect textbook examples in their position, preservation and dramatic full inflation. Fortunately, when this slab was split open at the quarry, the original limonite staining in the rock was near fully intact hence the wonderful hue and the VERY RARE color of DARK BROWN, rarely seen and far more valuable than the more common orange.
