PARADOXIDES TRILOBITE - Anti-Atlas Mountain Range, South Morocco

There is a large number of Paradoxides trilobites on the market that are 98% restored, that is, there is only 2% of the trilobite (if that) that is genuine.  How about seeing a specimen that is 98% REAL and only 2% restored??!  Most people have never seen this even in pictures.  Well, here it is!  With only approximately 2% restoration, this example is a real fossil treasure.  The entire surface you see above is the genuine trilobite with the exception of the outer fringe of the pleural lobe on the right and a couple tips of pygidial (tail) spines.  

Many fossil collectors have wondered what a GENUINE fossil of this famous large trilobite looks like with all the reproductions out there.  Here is the opportunity to closely examine and compare to the real deal.  The surface detail is wonderful despite areas.  There are regions where the preparator chiseled through the carapace but the intact nature of this super rarity far exceeds any surface blemishes, after all, you are looking at a REAL Paradoxides trilobite well in excess of 500 MILLION years old!  For the collector that desires a specimen that is an honest rare fossil, this is a highly recommended item.
