PARADOXIDES
TRILOBITE - Anti-Atlas Mountain Range, South Morocco
CAMBRIAN
PERIOD: 543 - 510 million years ago
A rarity
in the marketplace today, this remarkable example of the giant
Paradoxides trilobite is of superb preservation. Large
areas of the original carapace are still intact and this wonderful
specimen has only approximately 2% restoration, limited to two small areas on the
start of the genal spines and minor edges of some of the pleural spines. This premium grade
trilobite specimen is of the finest we currently offer and is highly
recommended for its uniqueness and rarity. The last photograph
gives the viewer a fantastic close-up of just how super this fossil
is. The pygidium is completely natural and intact with much of the
original carapace still present. Everything you see in that photo
is natural with no restoration. The majority of the entire
limestone slab is also present with only cracks repaired and filled. The
vast majority of Paradoxides specimens on the market are either heavily
restored or completely fabricated. This spectacular specimen is a true rarity
and of a type that is never encountered in the public market.
