LARGE DOUBLE ASAPHUS TRILOBITE Anti-Atlas Mountain Range, South Morocco ORDOVICIAN PERIOD: 510 million years ago Looking as though they could crawl right off the rock, this very large composite of two sizable Asaphus trilobites would make quite a stir wherever it is displayed. Each creature is completely genuine with the exception of the outer edge of the cephalon and pygidium (head and tail). This is VERY rare as the large Asaphids are commonly cast and often faked as they are very difficult to find, especially with such full inflation and detail as these two superb examples are. Each trilobite is naturally colored with its limonite stain and has been stabilized to protect this genuine coloring. The rock that these are on is very thick and requires a special easel stand (included at no charge). The profound look of this massive double trilobite specimen with their fully inflated bodies, make for an awe-inspiring display. Specimens like these are so seldom seen available and we only receive a few of these types each year at the most.
