LARGE ASAPHUS TRILOBITE LAB PREPPED - Anti Atlas Region - Sahara Desert, Morocco

As I was preparing the images for this spectacular large Asaphid as well as TR004, I suddenly realized that THIS, out of every type of trilobite I have ever handled, is my most favorite of all.  Nice quality large Asaphids from the Anti-Atlas Formation are rarely available.  Despite our year-round resident agents scouring this region for fine grade specimens, we are lucky to find one or two examples like these every couple of years!  Words can't describe the smooth lines and simplistic beauty these giant trilobites possess.  I often find myself just staring in admiration of these types when we are fortunate enough to be able to acquire one.  I believe these are one of the most impressive display trilobite fossils in the world!!!  No amount of images can reproduce the experience of seeing this trilobite or TR004 in person!  They are true showpiece fossils and represent sound investments in rare, top-grade specimens, sure to appreciate over time.

Because of the rarity of this fossil, we have meticulously lab-prepped it here in our facility in the United States to ensure the best possible presentation.  This exquisite Asaphid trilobite exhibits the fullest inflation and relief we have ever encountered.  One cannot help but to think it is still alive as it protrudes dramatically up off the rock with no distortion.  The original carapace is still mostly present.  There is minor restoration on the cephalon to the glabella and right free cheek.  This was only to repair genuine areas of the trilobite that became damaged during the excavation.  BOTH eyes are very full and genuine.  The color is natural with only a clear preservant applied to the carapace for protection.  Original limestone host rock is present and is quite thick.  The matrix has been blasted smooth and fully cleaned.  This contrasts beautifully with the natural charcoal black hue of the trilobite.  Natural calcite veins run through the rock and all of the original limestone is present.

This is one of the most impressive specimens to display and certainly a rare and true investment-grade example.  The profound look of this massive trilobite along with it being a very rare and unique type, make for an awe-inspiring display.  Specimens like these are so seldom seen available that we strongly urge any interested party to act on this very exclusive opportunity without delay.
