MASSIVE DIKELOKEPHALINA TRILOBITE - Mt. El Kisan - Alnif, Morocco

ORDOVICIAN PERIOD:  510 million years ago

This ultra-rare species of large trilobite is an honest scientific grade specimen.  This type of unique and very large species is impossible to locate now at the formation.  This Dikelokephalina happens to be the largest GENUINE example we have ever seen!  It is 100% genuine with no restoration.  There has been no building up or reconstruction and there is not even any coloring on the specimen, just a light coat of stabilizer to preserve such a treasure.

Morocco has been digging trilobites for many years and the buying pressure in the recent years has seriously depleted even many once common species of fine specimens.  The manufacture of fakes is now more prevalent than it was just a year ago.  If you can locate a nice and GENUINE example "anything", it is priced through the roof.  This specimen was found many years ago and is of a type and quality that really no longer exists in this 100% natural form.  Sure, you can find ones that are all doctored up and fabricated to look like this species but a specimen as this is a real treasure and should not be overlooked. 

If your tastes are sophisticated and demand the finest and most elusive species of the highest quality, then you will not want to let this specimen pass you by.  Sure to rapidly appreciate in the coming years, it is unlikely we will ever offer an example like this again.  The close-up images highlight the natural sedimentary pattern lines in the rock.  An interesting bonus to this specimen is evidence of other Dikelokephalina specimens just above the cephalon of the main one (see first photo).
