RARE INVESTMENT GRADE
2.4 INCH FOSSIL GREAT WHITE SHARK TOOTH FROM THE U.S. WITH RARE ANATOMY
Ace River Basin - South
Carolina, U.S.A.
MIOCENE
to PLIOCENE PERIOD: 15 - 1.81 million years ago
Fossil
Great White shark teeth from the
U.S.A. of fine grades, are highly uncommon and rare in the Miocene /Pliocene layers. It seems that during the reign of C. megalodon,
Carcharodon carcharias was keeping a low profile and for a good
reason, Megalodon was much larger with just as bad an attitude if not
worse. Fine grade fossil GREAT WHITE
SHARK
teeth from the United States
are very difficult to find for sale. The vast majority of fossil
Great White Shark teeth are from SOUTH AMERICA and are abundant of extremely fine quality. These teeth are no where
near as rare as American fossil teeth of this species and cannot be
compared in the least. Furthermore, there are even many more
Megalodon fossil shark teeth found than Great White fossil shark teeth
in U.S.A. deposits making such teeth a prize to collect and display when
offered for sale.
A
North American fossil Carcharodon carcharias tooth is considered
large when it reaches 2 inches. Very large specimens over 2.5
inches are seldom found and when they are, they are usually of very poor
quality with damage and/or poor preservation. This specimen is
just under 2.5" and is the most incredibly well-preserved and most
beautiful specimen we have ever listed. The serrations are extreme
and display very sharp, unworn edges. The tip is intact and sharp.
There is rare anatomy on the base of the crown and root with a "winged"
process on the side similar to late-evolved Megalodon teeth. The
tip shows a stunning blue pattern and color on BOTH sides of the crown
as shown above.
A
fossil tooth this size would have come from an incredibly large
prehistoric Great White shark. A tooth of this length is even rare for South
America but to find a tooth this size from the U.S. is an extremely rare
find and in this quality and color, a true investment specimen!!!
This is the kind of tooth that shark tooth dealers keep for their own
collection. We do not collect fossils but if we did, this would
not be one we would part with! There is
NO REPAIR AND NO RESTORATION.
The features found on this tooth may seem subtle in several ways but it
is these subtle conditions that can DRAMATICALLY affect fossil shark
teeth for the most advanced collectors. This large fossil Great
White tooth represents one of those rare life chances to add a highly unusual and
stunning beauty
NOT
from South America but from a U.S.A. river!
