FINEST EVER
INVESTMENT-GRADE LARGE VELOCIRAPTORINE DROMAEOSAUR
" RAPTOR " TOOTH
Tegana
Formation - Kem Kem Beds, Morocco
LATE
CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 96 - 66 million years ago Many
African dinosaurs are yet undiscovered and/or identified.
Saharan expeditions in the recent years have yielded incredible new discoveries
of many species never known to exist including a yet-to-be-named
dromaeosaur. There are likely several species of African
dromaeosaurs, ranging from the size of a
peacock up to the size of Velociraptor, that have never been attributed
based on wide ranging characteristics of the teeth.
Without question, this is the absolute finest large fossil tooth we ever
offered from a dromaeosaur (aka "raptor")
the size of Velociraptor. It is
INTACT
and
WITH NO RESTORATION AND NO REPAIR.
Every serration is displayed with exceptional preservation and the long
slender geometry terminates in a perfectly intact and sharp tip. The serrations run sharp and detailed down the entire length.
The enamel is in amazing
condition with an underlying ivory white tone accented by a blush of
orange and blood red speckling. This is a rare size at the maximum
range for this type of dinosaur from this deposit where most dromaeosaur teeth
rarely exceed half an inch in length. Most raptors were
only knee-high and about the size of small dogs, hence the very small
teeth that are usually found. If you value owning the absolute
best specimens then this rarity comes with our strong recommendation.
