CETIOSAUR TOOTH
- Tegana
Formation - Kem Kem, Morocco
EARLY
CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 145 - 112 million years ago
Out of
all the cetiosaur teeth we see, this type is amongst the more rare
varieties. The surface of the tooth is very wavy and without
symmetrical form and the tip is a gradual taper without much of a wear
facet. It is our opinion that there are several species of
cetiosaurs that are still undiscovered from the Kem Kem and this
specific type is certainly one of the rarer specimens which makes it a
great candidate for a collection. The tooth is much better than
appears in the images and even the last photo fails to accurately
portray the beautiful and flowing glossy surface of the intact
enamel. Color is a light plum and best of all... this
example is completely intact with no repair and no restoration!
