HUGE INTACT SPINOSAURUS
DINOSAUR TOOTH -
Tegana Formation - Kem Kem, Morocco
LATE
CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 96 - 66 million years ago
Now that
large Spinosaurus teeth have become very rare in any quality condition,
there are more "enhanced" teeth on the market to be wary
of. Painting the tooth to conceal damage or adding a base of
another tooth to lengthen and then cover up with sand and glue are just
some of the tricks I see every day especially on the large auction
website. This whopper tooth has NO
RESTORATION and
has only been repaired in a couple of fine breaks that it sustained when
found.
Its tip is intact with only very slight, natural feeding wear from the monster dinosaur's
use. The enamel is intact and of an intense blood red / orange hue
that is usually only seen on the choice teeth that were found at a
higher layer many years earlier. This tooth came from a full-grown
Spinosaurus evident in the girth and profile of the tooth (a mature
dinosaur had many teeth of drastically varying lengths). Every
feature of this tooth is hard to find nowadays in even 2" teeth,
not to mention a 3.35" tooth!!! A
CHOICE ROBUST TOOTH AND AN HONEST 3.35" SPECIMEN!
3.35" long along the
curve x 1" wide
