HUGE SPINOSAURUS DINOSAUR TOOTH - Tegana Formation - Kem Kem, Morocco

LATE CRETACEOUS PERIOD:  96 - 66 million years ago

WOW!  What can be said in the presence of such a tooth???  This is THE FINEST tooth that we collected in all of last year's digging amongst our mining contacts.  It is surreal in its beauty and perfection.  In the thousands of teeth we collect and have dealt with, this tooth will always rank as one of the finest.  

What is extremely rare is that it was found just this past year.  Anyone that has been shopping for Spinosaurus teeth can attest to what we have been saying for the last several years - the formation is no longer producing fine grade teeth in the larger sizes.  We are now digging at depths of as much as 24 meters, THREE TIMES! the previous depths.  Still, the source is practically depleted.  A tooth such as this amazingly rare example is definitely one of the most promising investments one can make at this point in time.  In the last year of digging, the cumulative effort of many of our mining partners produced less than 5 quality large teeth 4" and over.  This is the finest condition tooth of the entire year's efforts of 2002!!!  Need we say more about what the situation is.  Since dinosaurs are long gone, things will only get worse.

A common trick in the market is to attach either a bunch of sand mixed with glue on the end of the tooth's root to exaggerate the length or even worse, glue another tooth's root on to the end and disguise the seam with more sand and glue.  In either case, these look like very large teeth but they are faked.  Don't be fooled when you are shopping for ANY large dinosaur teeth.  These are common practices of both unscrupulous and uninformed dealers.  It really pays to know who you are buying from!  I see both of these practices done quite frequently in the large tooth market and numerous junk teeth are selling for ridiculous high prices (ESPECIALLY in the online auctions!).

The tip on this massive specimen is as sharp as they come with no visible wear, whatsoever.  The enamel and hue is of the finest condition possible on BOTH sides.  The only drawback is a micro-fine fissure across the root section that has been stabilized to protect the integrity and intactness of this incredible find.  In no way does this detract or take away from its rarity or value.  ZERO encrustation on the root end proves this to be a true monster tooth.  Unlike other dealers, we provide FULL DISCLOSURE on every specimen.  You know exactly what you are buying when you invest in one of our choice fossil teeth.  There is NO RESTORATION ANYWHERE ON THIS CHOICE EXAMPLE!
