LARGE FINEST GRADE
SPINOSAURUS
TOOTH - Tegana
Formation - Kem Kem, Morocco
LATE
CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 96 - 66 million years ago
WOW!
This
remarkable investment grade dinosaur tooth is THE
FINEST tooth that we have ever collected in this size! Just
look at that tip - it is 100% genuine all the way to the needle-like
point. In the thousands of teeth we collect and have dealt with, this tooth
will always rank as one of the finest and certainly one of the rarest
Spinosaurus teeth we have ever seen, especially in this day with the
current state of depletion at the source of any large teeth.
With the
formation that these teeth are found now being practically depleted, a tooth
such as this amazingly rare example is definitely one of the most
promising investments one can make at this point in time. Current
diggers are working at the lowest layers of the Cretaceous which means
any deeper and you go beyond the Cretaceous. No more Spinosaurus
teeth beyond that!
NOTE:
A common
trick in the market is to attach either a bunch of sand mixed with glue
on the end of the tooth's root to exaggerate the length or even worse,
glue another tooth's root on to the end and disguise the seam with more
sand and glue. In either case, these look like very large teeth
but they are faked. Don't be fooled when you are shopping for ANY
large dinosaur teeth. These are common practices of both
unscrupulous and uninformed dealers. It really pays to know who
you are buying from! I see both of these practices done quite
frequently in the large tooth market and numerous junk teeth are selling
for ridiculous high prices (ESPECIALLY on Ebay where these kind of
practices are the rule for anything where authenticity is important!)
The
fourth image from the top shows a close-up of the root end.
Clearly, the edges of the tooth can be seen protruding thereby proving
the true length of this prize specimen. The tip
on this massive tooth is as sharp as they come with no visible wear,
whatsoever. The enamel and hue is superb and richly toned. Light encrustation on the root
from sediments in which it was found.
Unlike
other dealers, we provide FULL DISCLOSURE on every specimen.
You know exactly what you are buying when you invest in one of our
choice fossil teeth. A fracture has been repaired but this is
undetectable and does not detract from the value of such a rare
example. NO
RESTORATION ANYWHERE ON THIS CHOICE EXAMPLE! Entire
tooth has been stabilized to protect from any handling damage.
We could
go on and on. The images are speak volumes and if you like these photos, you should see the tooth in
person - it's even better!
