RARE
HUGE 4.4 INCH CARCHARODONTOSAURUS
DINOSAUR TOOTH
"Taouz" region
of the Sahara Desert, Morocco
LATE
CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 96 - 66 million years ago
In reviewing the
recent years of collecting dinosaur fossils at the Kem Kem in the Sahara
Desert, it is clear that we are now approaching the final days of
finding quality teeth of ANY size not to mention massive examples such
as this. This year has been quite a eye opener as collecting
efforts all year yielded not a single large quality tooth of ANY
species. What
is important to consider in this giant investment-grade dinosaur tooth
is that there is none of the common restoration found in these large
teeth. All the pieces are present and this remarkable tooth has
only been repaired. There is none of the "glue and sand"
tricks where missing areas are filled. Unlike the majority of
"large" teeth we have seen in the online auctions, this choice
specimen has not been painted nor has part of another tooth been
cleverly attached to make one large tooth. This is a GENUINE and
single massive specimen that has only undergone repair and nothing more!
The most ferocious and
sizeable killer dinosaur that lived in the North African continent
during the Cretaceous was the Carcharodontosaurus. Many
misinformed dealers and collectors call this the African T. rex but
there is no relation to such. Nevertheless, fine quality teeth
from Carcharodontosaurus have appreciated so rapidly in value just in
the last year alone that prices are now approaching T. rex teeth because
the source is nearly depleted. Considering this, this amazing
specimen could be one of the last chances to own a genuine and
complete giant dinosaur tooth from one of the most fearsome killers that
walked the earth. We
have this specimen because it was collected nearly two years ago.
It was the only example in this size. Even more rare, at that time
and including this tooth, we found only a handful of teeth from this
dinosaur in this ultra rare light tapioca ivory color and we have not
found any before or since then like it. The serrations are in
superb condition. The enamel is in excellent preservation with a
glossy shine still present. All in all, this tooth would be
considered a fantastic and excellent example in any size but its giant
proportions make it a true PRIZE! This
superb and valuable fossil tooth is from
one of the largest therapods, related to the Allosaurus and Giganotosaurus, the terrifying Carcharodontosaurus saharicus, which
means "shark-toothed lizard of the Sahara". This
North African carnosaur (meat-eating lizard) had a massive tail, a bulky
body, and heavy bones. Its arms were short and had three-fingered
hands with sharp claws. Carcharodontosaurus
grew up to 45 feet long, perhaps weighing up to 8 tons.
It had a skull 6 feet long. It had large, powerful jaws
with long, serrated, sharp teeth up to 8 inches long. Although
Carcharodontosaurus
was larger than T-rex, its brain was smaller. Carcharodontosaurus
was closely related to Giganotosaurus but not to T-rex.
Carcharodontosaurus
was a more primitive dinosaur than T-rex. This tooth was found in the
Kem Kem region of
the Sahara desert in Morocco. This
specimen is EXTREMELY RARE and should be included in any serious
collector's cabinet while still available in this lifetime.
It represents the finest and rarest quality available and is a MUST
HAVE for any true dinosaur aficionado. Genuine LARGE examples from
ANY carnivorous dinosaur are now one of the rarest fossils, guaranteed
to permanently appreciate in a very aggressive manner in the coming
years. The demand for quality GENUINE dinosaur remains continue to
escalate while sources near complete depletion. ONE
OF THE LARGEST AND FINEST, ULTRA RARE INVESTMENT GRADE DINOSAUR TEETH!
