DELTADROMEUS
TOOTH -
Tegana Formation of Kem Kem,
Morocco
CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 99 - 93 million years ago
As
one of the largest Deltadromeus teeth we have offered, this is one
impressive examples of this very rare dinosaur. Enamel is a golden
blond with orange highlights. Graining is wonderful and
distinct. Sharp tip is present with minor natural feeding damage
on trailing edge as well as some natural feeding wear on lower leading
edge of tooth. Overall serrations are defined and well
preserved. Tooth has been chemically stabilized and is without any
fabrication. A super specimen of immense proportions for this
species! A very highly recommended specimen and a GENUINE
Deltadromeus tooth,
not a common misidentified raptor tooth like most other dealers and
online auctioneers pass
off as coming from this large carnivore. Deltadromeus
agilis was a meat-eating dinosaur believed to be an early offshoot of the therapod
line that led to the development of tyrannosaurs and raptors in North
America. This
carnosaur is greater than 25 feet in length and is 8 feet
high at the hip. Estimated weight when the creature was alive is 3.5
to 4 tons. Deltadromeus approaches the size of Tyrannosaurus yet,
was a swift and agile hunter. CAUTION:
MANY DEALERS ARE CURRENTLY SELLING SMALL (1" AND UNDER) UNIDENTIFIED
RAPTOR TEETH OF VERY LITTLE VALUE AS DELTADROMEUS AGILIS TEETH.
YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A PALEONTOLOGIST TO UNDERSTAND THAT A 25 FOOT
MEAT-EATING THERAPOD THE SIZE OF A JUVENILE T. REX DID NOT HAVE
TEETH SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN A DIME!
Do not miss
out on this beautiful specimen of this very rare and highly sought-after new species of
dinosaur while still available.
