DELTADROMEUS
TOOTH -
Tegana Formation of Kem Kem,
Morocco
CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 99 - 93 million years ago
It
is a highly rare occurrence to find ANY sizable carnivorous dinosaur
tooth to be intact. Fortunately, we were able to collect such a
specimen and from such a rare and often misidentified dinosaur. There is no restoration on this
beauty and the entire tooth is present and original! The tip on
this example is very sharp and pointed which is nearly impossible to
find on these teeth. The original enamel is still intact and
exhibits a beautiful honey ivory hue with superb graining and only minor
blemish from exposure. Specimen still retains its sheen and is
very solid. This is currently our largest tooth and one of the
largest we have had from this rarest of all North African dinosaurs. Deltadromeus
agilis was a meat-eating dinosaur believed to be an early offshoot of the therapod
line that led to the development of tyrannosaurs and raptors in North
America.
This
carnosaur is greater than 25 feet in length and is 8 feet
high at the hip. Estimated weight when the creature was alive is 3.5
to 4 tons. Deltadromeus approaches the size of Tyrannosaurus yet,
was a swift and agile hunter.
Do not miss
out on this beautiful specimen of this very rare and highly sought-after new species of
dinosaur while still available.
