DELTADROMEUS
TOOTH -
Tegana Formation of Kem Kem,
Morocco
CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 99 - 93 million years ago
It
is a highly rare occurrence to find ANY sizable carnivorous dinosaur
tooth to be intact. Fortunately, we were able to collect such a
specimen. There is no restoration on this beauty and the entire
tooth is present and original! The tip on this example is very
sharp and pointed which is nearly impossible to find on these
teeth. There is an expansion fissure (that we have stabilized)
caused by aging, running down the center of the tooth. This is not
a crack from damage and it does not run through the entire length.
In no way does it detract from the solidarity and beauty of the tooth as
seen from the display side. The wonderful mix of colors are
natural and make for a gorgeous and rare tooth as well as an impressive
display fossil. Deltadromeus
agilis was a meat-eating dinosaur believed to be an early offshoot of the therapod
line that led to the development of tyrannosaurs and raptors in North
America.
This
carnosaur is greater than 25 feet in length and is 8 feet
high at the hip. Estimated weight when the creature was alive is 3.5
to 4 tons. Deltadromeus approaches the size of Tyrannosaurus yet,
was a swift and agile hunter.
Do not miss
out on this beautiful specimen of this very rare and highly sought-after new species of
dinosaur while still available.
