PERISPHINCTES
AMMONITE (TWO HALVES SPLIT AND POLISHED) -
Tulear Region, Madagascar UPPER
JURASSIC
PERIOD: 150 million years ago More
commonly seen around the size of a silver dollar to less than the
diameter of a drink coaster, this rare and superb ammonite specimen of
Perisphinctes antecedens. Whether
you are a serious collector of the finest quality ammonites and/or looking
for a show-stopping and fascinating fossil to grace your home / office,
this is an excellent choice. This ammonite has been carefully
sliced in half with a diamond saw and each half has been polished to a
smooth high gloss. Many chambers are hollow and lined with
microcrystalline formations or calcite. This same crystal form
lines many gem geodes. Each
chamber, whether hollow or solid is exquisitely detailed and
natural. As a matter of fact, other than the specimen being sliced
and polished, all
the color and detail you see is 100% genuine!
The ammonite has only been stabilized on the outer white shell in areas
to ensure protection from breakage. BREATH-TAKING,
LARGE SPECIMEN WITH MICRO-CRYSTALS LINING MOST CHAMBERS!
